Milan Report 2011: Faye Toogood talks Natura Morta

Studio Toogood defies trend and inverts the idyllic and cheerful sentiment of past work in new project Natura Morta. The provocative show was presented during 2011’s Milan Design Week at Erastudio, an 18th-century apartment turned gallery space. As well as a platform to launch a new series of furniture and objects, at night Natura Morta morphed into the setting for Underkitchen. One of the most talked about events of the Design Week calendar, the series of private midnight dinners was art directed by Faye Toogood, Studio Toogood’s designer and creative director, and involved a seamless integration of fashion, design, food and art.

In the video above, Faye Toogood speaks to Vogue Living on site at Erastudio about the project.

Read an in-depth story about Natura Morta and Toogood’s constant desire for reinvention in Vogue Living’s July/August issue, on sale 15 June 2011.
