Milan Report 2011: Maurizio Galante retrospective

Maurizio Galante, a Roman couturier based in Paris, is one of the 11 members of the rarefied Chambre Syndicale De La Haute Couture. This year, Galante, a fixture at Milan design week, was the object (with partner Tal Lancman) of a retrospective exhibition of his collections for the home at Milan’s headquarters for design, La Triennale. These couture pieces were not part of that exhibition, but belong to Sydney PR maven Judi Hausmann, who four years ago began visiting Milan with the Vogue Living team. Last year, Hausmann met Galante and Lancman, all three pictured in the video above. Hausmann now calls these exquisite pieces, below, her own. Each piece takes around 300 hours to fabricate, and was generously loaned to us by Hausmann.
