Light Source: Koskela & the Tjanpi Desert Weavers

Australian furniture and homeware designers Koskela have collaborated with Indigenous weavers from Central Australia to create a joyously coloured range of lighting.

Tili Wiru is the first lighting range for the Tjanpi Desert Weavers, a group of Indigenous women from Central Australia that have had their vivid fibre art works acquired by major institutions including the National Gallery of Australia.

Priced from $440 to $1590, each lamp shade is one of a kind and a contemporary expression of the traditional skills and cultural heritage of its makers.

You can see the lamps at an exhibition at Koskela’s showroom and learn more about how the collaboration came about and the work of the Tjanpi Desert Weavers in the video above.
