Escape to Thailand

Vogue Living acting art director Aleksandra Beare recently snuck away for five indulgent days in Thailand, courtesy of Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Renaissance Hotels and Qantas. Her trip took her from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, with its markets and slick inner-city hotels, to the tranquil waters of the Andaman Sea on the country’s south coast. Here’s a visual diary of her travels.

STAY

In Krabi on Thailand’s southern coast, Vogue Living stayed at the luxurious Phulay Bay – A Ritz Carlton Reserve. Located on the Andaman Sea, the six-star resort has 54 one-bedroom pavilions and villas and offers guests a 24-hour butler service. It is the closest resort to Phang-Nga Bay and offers unique access to the bay’s 200 islands via complimentary boat shuttles to Hong Island and sightseeing tours. www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Reserve/PhulayBay/

In Bangkok, Vogue Living checked in to the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel. Visit www.renaissancehotels.com.

FLY

Aleks flew Qantas Business Class from Sydney to Bangkok. Fares start from $4,396 per person. Visit www.qantas.com.au.

To get to Phulay Bay, there are direct flights to Krabi from Bangkok. Alternatively,  its possible to travel by boat from Phuket.
