Revamped Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel Opens

Watson’s Bay has long been an escape from the city for Sydneysiders, with well-established restaurants, an inviting beach and a view of the harbour’s most iconic structure tempting locals as well as tourists since the 1890s. The latest venue to capitalise on the location’s natural appeal is Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and Beach Club, which was purchased late last year by Arthur Laundy and Fraser Short. The renovated complex – replete with a fun-in-the-sun atmosphere – has just opened, serving tourists and locals with impressive cocktails, exquisite meals and luxe accommodation.

The hotel itself has 32 suites ranging from $190-$545 per night, and has a range of function facilities – like a Hamptons-inspired space – to be hired for events, conferences and sure-to-be elegant weddings. The beach club boasts a restaurant with a menu of Australian staples given culinary upgrades, like the Watto beef burger and Coopers-battered fish and chips, as well as Modern Australian dishes, prepared by head chef Eric Jansson.

The decor champions tongue-in-cheek tropical, beachy chic with a sweeping wooden bar, hand-painted signage and nautical accents.
