WHAT Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris.

WHERE 37 Avenue Hoche, 75008.

PEDIGREE Le Royal Monceau is another of Paris’s famous
‘Palace’ hotels. The recent renovation, of more than two years, was overseen by renowned French designer Philippe Starck.

DECOR Starck has done it again, infusing the grand bones of a palace hotel with wit and whimsy. From a collection of books artfully placed above a
column in Le Grand Salon to the impressive wall of decorative glasses in Le Bar Long, there is an endless amount of visual interest throughout the main spaces and rooms alike.

STAY HERE IF With a dedicated Art Concierge, a bookstore focused on art and limited editions, and a contemporary gallery within the
hotel, this is the place for those passionate about art.

LAY YOUR HEAD Acoustic guitars, original artworks and,
in some rooms, handcrafted pieces by Starck, add a quirky appeal
to the 149 rooms and suites. The latest technology is cleverly concealed within spaces that tread the line between feminine
and masculine, combining pale pink, caramel and gold.

BON APPETIT In line with the youthful spirit of the hotel, restaurants La Cuisine and Il Carpaccio offer relaxed fine dining, while snacks and drinks are available at Le Grand Salon or
Le Bar Long. The prices, however, match the prestige of the
hotel. Pierre Hermé’s exclusive sweet concoctions are not
to be missed. If macarons are not your thing, the star pâtissier’s
muesli and jams at breakfast are to die for.

WE LIKE The ethereal white spa boasts the longest swimming pool (23 metres) of any Parisian hotel. The spa, equally impressive in size, has unique My Blend by Clarins products, hammams, a sauna and private coaches for yoga, pilates and aqua fitness.

HOWEVER The hotel boutique, Le Royal Eclaireur, is dangerously tempting, stocking furniture seen throughout the hotel with Fornasetti dinnerware, artworks and exclusive fashion.
